The Verti-Slicer has a working width of 42". As with the Dethatcher, the Vertislicer has an overall width of 48". Opposing rows of fixed knives slice in the seed as it is metered out in front of them. Knives are spaced every 2 inches. Seed agitation is provided by a gear motor. Dispensation rates are controlled by a rotating dial stop. A manual lever facing the operator, shuts off the flow of seed. For ease of operation, simply shut off the agitator while maneuvering to terminate seed flow.  Depth is controlled with a linear actuator and clip-on shims. Both the actuator and agitator are controlled via two toggle switches mounted on the tractor's forward speed control.
